The Iowa Hawkeye women will meet a familiar foe when they visit Michigan State on Sunday in Big Ten play. It will be the Hawkeyes second straight matchup with the Spartans who posted an 83-63 win over the Hawkeyes in Iowa City last Sunday.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says they play most teams twice, so it doesn’t bother her. The Hawks are 3-3 in the Big Ten with all three victories on the road and all three losses at home. Bluder says part of that is the opposition they’ve played, with the games against the top three at home.

Bluder says the Hawkeyes need to start beating some ranked teams if they have any post-season aspirations. She says they play a tough conference schedule that has them playing the top teams twice, and that may hurt them even though the team is better. Michigan State is 4-1 in the conference and visits Michigan tonight.
