UNI made it three in a row at Missouri State Thursday night. The Panthers squandered a 13 point second half lead the finished the game with a 12-2 run as they downed the Bears 75-65 in Missouri Valley conference action. Grant Stout had 15 points and added 12 rebounds for the Panthers who improve to 5-2 in the Valley.

Freshman Josh Young sank a three pointer with about a minute remaining to snap a 68-68 tie and Drake went on to edge Indiana State 74-68 in Des Moines. Senior guard Al Stewart led Drake with 19 points while senior forward Ajay Calvin added 11. The Bulldogs improve to 2-6 in the Valley and 11-8 overall. They visit Illinois state on Sunday.

Women’s basketball from last night, Iowa state built a 12 point lead at the half an upended Texas 67-56 in Ames. ISU improves to 2-2 in the Big 12. The Drake women lost at Evansville in overtime 67-62.
