After a big victory at Missouri State the UNI Panthers return to Missouri Valley Conference action at home today against Indiana State. The Panthers are 5-2 in the Valley and Thursday’s win snapped a two game losing streak.

UNI coach Ben Jacobson says they’ve talked all year about being able to handle the result of the game, win or lose. Jacobson says they’ve done a pretty good job of that. He says every game will be a challenge the rest of the way. Jacobson says each time you get done playing and then start looking at the next opponent, you find they’re good. He says playing Missouri State and turning around to play one day later will be tough.

Jacobson says with the strength of the Valley, five or six losses might win the title. He says more so than in year’s past, the teams below the top five are better than they have been in the past. Jacobson says that makes for an interesting conference race. The Panthers are 14-4 in the Valley. Indiana State is 4-3 in the conference after a Thursday night loss at Drake and the Sycamores are 11-6 overall.
