The Iowa Hawkeyes are alone in fourth place in the Big Ten race heading into Wednesday night’s game at Minnesota. The Hawks improved to 5-4 in the league race with an 81-75 win over Indiana on Saturday. The Hawkeyes made 32 of 37 free throws in a foul plagued contest.

Iowa coach Steve Alford says hitting the free throws has been one of their strengths as they’ve been right around 78 percent all season long. Alford says the plan is to fight to stay in the game, and get fouls and win it at the line down the stretch.

The Hawkeyes will close the week with a visit to Wisconsin. Alford says they need to get rested as this has been a hard week with three games in a row. Haluska says the second comeback last week in a victory at Michigan has provided a spark for the Hawks. Haluska says they didn’t have a lot of confidence in themselves in the first half, but they came out in second half and played well.

Iowa is 13-10 overall.
