UNI built an early ten point lead at Indiana State but it did not hold up as the Panthers fell to the Sycamores 59-46 in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Panthers fall to 7-6 in the Valley and 16-8.

The honors are pouring in for Iowa guard Adam Haluska. The senior from Carroll has been named the Big Ten player of the week after averaging 25 points and seven and a half rebounds in Hawkeye victories over Michigan and Indiana.

He also was named the national player of the week by The Sporting News. Iowa coach Steve Alford says Haluska has elevated his game during his senior season.

Iowa is fourth in the Big Ten with a 5-4 record heading into Wednesday night’s game at Minnesota.
