There was no late comeback for Iowa State this time against Missouri. The Tigers broke open the game in the second half by outscoring the Cyclones 46-29 in a 77-55 win in Hilton Coliseum. After leading 31-26 at the half Missouri completely dominated the second half by shooting 66 percent from the field.

Iowa State coach Greg McDermott says he told his team he doesn’t think any less of them, but they are going to have to decide how important it is to lock in on every single possession. McDermott says it’s very hard when they only have two guys scoring, and that’s what happened.

The Cyclones struggled on offense the entire game. They shot just 35 percent and also committed 16 turnovers. McDermott says that’s a result of being pressured and trying to make something happen instead of taking time and working for a shot.

Wesley Johnson led ISU with 17 points but says unlike the first matchup it was Missouri that made all the hustle plays. Johnson they didn’t get to loose balls and rebound like they had in the first game. The Cyclones fall to 3-6 in the Big-12 and 12-11 overall.
