A crash in Dallas County this morning claimed three lives. Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Jessica Roberts says the call to 9-1-1 came about seven A.M. about the accident on county road P-57 just south of Interstate-80 and near Earlham, and it involved two minivans.

One minivan had a family of four, the other a woman and her son. The first driver lost control for reasons that aren’t clear, and the second minivan broadsided the first. The southbound van had swerved across the other lane and when the northbound vehicle "T-boned" it on the passenger side, all six people in both vehicles were hurt.

Three of them died — all in the southbound van, they’re identified by the state patrol as 36-year-old Tracy Asher, two-year-old Lucas Asher, and six-year-old Matthew Asher. A four-year-old boy in their vehicle was injured, as were the woman driving the other van, and a six-year-old child who was riding with her.

It was wet and rainy at that time, and so far investigators can’t say if weather was a major factor in the crash.
