Great weather led to a number of standout performances at the 88th Drake Relays. Sixteen records were broken, including one of the oldest. Alan Webb set a new record in the mile run with a winning time of 3:51.71. That broke the record set by Steve Scott back in 1979.

Webb says it was very important as he says the next thing on his list is to get the American mile record held by Scott. Webb says he wants to be the best miler in the world.

Webb says it was a very fast time for him especially considering home early in the season it is. Webb says it usually takes him awhile to get going, so this is a really good start to his season.
