The often-delayed Isle of Capri Casino in Waterloo should now open at the end of this month. The casino was originally scheduled to open April 1st, then it was pushed back to May, and finally July 1st was set as the date.

Casino General Manager Kim Hardy told the Racing and Gaming Commission today that the opening date has moved up one day. He says they’ll open to the public on June 30th at seven p.m. Hardy says they’ll have a private party at five p.m. on that day, and then a basic opening at seven. Hardy says there are not going to have a big grand opening celebration at this time.

Hardy says everything will be open except for one restaurant, which will open July 29th. The pool and spa will open in November and the nightclub will open in January. The Waterloo casino will be the last of the four new casinos approved by the Racing and Gaming Commission to open for business.
