Federal authorities say they’ve busted an ecstasy distribution ring in eastern Iowa. Seven residents of the Quad Cities are accused in the distribution of more than one million dollars worth of the drug Ecstasy. They were arrested this week following a multi-month investigation involving federal drug agents and local police.

Authorities say they seized $35,000 in cash and over $250,000 worth of Ecstasy. The illegal drug, which is described as both a psychedelic and stimulant, has become more popular in Iowa. Investigators believe the individuals charged in the case received the Ecstasy from sources in Canada and on the east coast of the US for at least one year.
