The story of the 1991 Norway, Iowa baseball team could be hitting the big screen on October 12th. Tony Wilson is co-producer of the movie "The Final Season", which was filmed last summer in eastern Iowa. He says a deal with Sony Pictures and Yari Film Group hasn’t been signed, but it’s close to being finalized.

The deal includes a theatrical release on 1,000 screens in the middle of Major League Baseball’s postseason. Wilson calls Sony a "very reputable company" and notes that Yari Film Group has had some success with the films "Crash" and "The Illusionist", "so we’re very pleased with the arrangement and the chance to work with such industry powerhouses."

Wilson, who’s from Dallas Center, has been trying for nearly 15 years to bring the story to the big screen. "The Final Season" stars Sean Astin, Powers Booth, Racheal Leigh Cook, and Iowa native Tom Arnold. More information about the movie can be found on-line at www.finalseason.com .
