In the class 1A sub-state final round tenth ranked Remsen St. Mary’s takes on Kingsley-Pierson for the right to advance to the state tournament. Remsen St. Mary’s is looking for its first trip to state since winning it’s third consecutive title back in 1985.

Coach Steve Erdman says there were some nerves in the district championship, and there will definitely be nerves in this one too. Erdman says they do know some of the players on the other team, so it won’t be a total unknown as it was in district.

Kingsley-Pierson is 17-16 on the season but Erdman says records mean nothing at this point as the teams that’re playing now are all on a roll. Erdman says anyone can have a "lights out" performance.

Erdman believes a tough non-conference schedule has helped prepare his team for the tournament run. He says it was probably the deepest year for pitchers in the conference, and that helped his team by facing a lot of tough right and left handers.
