Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is weighing in on Democrat Hillary Clinton’s side in Clinton’s recent debate with Barack Obama over foreign policy.

Romney says Obama was wrong to say he’d meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria and North Korea.

"The president of the United States does not bestow our dignity and the power of our reputation around the world around those people," Romney says. "It’s a remarkable difference if a Democratic president like Barack Obama were running this country."

Romney says Clinton is right to call Obama’s position irresponsible. Obama has fired back, suggesting Clinton’s statements indicate she would follow the failed Bush-Cheney style of diplomacy.

As for another Democratic candidate — John Edwards — Romney is ridiculing the tax plan Edwards unveiled in Iowa Thursday. Romney says Edwards’ "tax-free" savings plan would only yield enough to buy a new bicycle, not a new car or a college education.

Romney says his own plan would be better for middle income Americans. "One: I want to make the Bush tax cuts permanent. Two: I want to kill the death tax once and for all," Romney says. "And three: I want a special savings plan for everybody of middle income in America."

Romney made his comments during a campaign stop in Boone.
