Dubuque police have located a woman involved in a hit-and-run in that city. Assistant Dubuque Police Chief Terry Tobin says it happened on a residential street. "On Thursday morning at about a quarter to nine, a woman was driving and struck the child, who had been riding on a skateboard," Tobin says.

The woman then picked the child up, according to Tobin. "The woman somehow identified where the child lived, took the child up to the parent’s residence there and dropped the child off…talked to the mother on it and then stated that she had an appointment to get to, and then proceeded on her way," Tobin says. Dubuque police tracked down the driver last night and the assistant police chief says she could face the charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

The child is recovering. "We believe the child will be released from the hospital today," Tobin says.
