A motorcyclist was killed in a weekend wreck in north-central Iowa. A 57-year-old Plymouth, Indiana, motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon as the result of an accident on Highway 20, southwest of Duncombe in Webster County.

The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as William R. Xaver. The 1993 Honda Goldwing motorcycle operated by Xaver was traveling westbound on the highway in the outside lane when the motorcycle drifted off onto the gravel shoulder where he lost control.

The motorcycle then overturned on the shoulder and ejected Xaver. He was then taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge where he died of his injuries. Xaver was riding with three other motorcyclists to the motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, at the time of the accident.
