The pilot of a crop duster flying over Adams County in southwest Iowa escaped injury this afternoon, after his plane crashed in the eastern part of the county. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred at around 12:30 p.m. near tiny Stringtown, about 10-miles east of Corning.

Officials say the pilot of the plane, Eric Blair, of Essex, Missouri, was crop dusting near Stringtown when his engine suddenly quit. Blair was forced to make an emergency landing in a soybean field south of town. Sheriff’s officials say he wasn’t hurt but the plane — registered to Blair Aviation, of Essex — was heavily damaged.
