A young man from northern Iowa died this week after falling from a moving vehicle in Iowa Falls. It happened Tuesday after a football practice. Iowa Falls Police Chief Ron Kuhfus says 18 year old Jesse Jorgensen of Forest City was riding on the trunk of a car.

Kuhfus says two players, including Jorgensen, were riding on the car from the practice field to the dorms. When the car took off, Jorgensen fell off and hit his head on the pavement. Kuhfus says they do not plan to file any charges against the driver.

“We’re not filing any at this point,” Kuhfus says, “witnesses at the scene said (the driver) took off slow, didn’t accelerate, didn’t take off fast, and didn’t drive reckless.” Jorgensen was in his first year as an Ellsworth Community College football player.
