A Waterloo physician will pay a stiff penalty for drug trafficking. A judge gave Dr. Mark Louviere a 100-year prison sentence Monday following a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Louviere was arrested on drug and weapons charges last April after investigators seized about eleven pounds of methamphetamine and several guns at his home and a neighbor’s house. Authorities say the value of the meth was nearly one million dollars.

Under the plea agreement, Louviere could be eligible for parole in 22 years or sooner with good behavior. Louviere pleaded guilty to meth conspiracy charges last month.
