The president of the Iowa Farm Bureau is encouraging farmers to "report the errors" of their neighbors. Craig Lang says everyone needs to work together to improve the image of rural Iowa. "We all drive down the roads, we all see erosion," Lang says, "and sometimes we know the erosion is due because of shortcuts. We know that in certain circumstances people haven’t got the regard for their neighbors and the environment that they should."

He’s encouraging farmers to help their neighbors make good decisions to "increase resources for the next generation who want to farm." "Until we do that," Lang says, "until we identify the bad actors that cause havoc in the media to all of us, we aren’t going to get the credibility that I think we really deserve." Lang made his comments last week at the Iowa Farm Bureau’s summer policy conference in West Des Moines.
