New charges are being filed against two hunters from the northeast Iowa town of Oelwein. The additional charges from the D-N-R have been filed against 34-year-old Steven Brockmeyer and his uncle, 51-year-old Roy Brockmeyer. They’re charged with two counts each of commercialization of wildlife.

A search of their homes in Oelwein uncovered a large quantity of property and game that was seized. In addition to the original charges, both Brockmeyers have now been charged with over 30 more counts of various conservation violations. The citations involve the alleged illegal possession and taking of wild game, improper methods and equipment to take game, and other related charges.

Both men entered not-guilty pleas in Fayette County District Court this week (Tuesday). A pre-trial hearing is set for October 2nd. If convicted, the Brockmeyers could face more than $15,000 in fines or some jail time.
