The Iowa Hawkeyes will need to handle a hostile environment this weekend much better than they did at Iowa State. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 15-13 loss to the Cyclones and next up visit ninth rated Wisconsin in their Big Ten opener.

Hawkeye coach Kirk Ferentz says they have lot of road games, so hopefully they’ll take what they learned from the loss and use them to their advantage. A string of arrests continued this weekend for the team. Reserve safety Lance Tillson was suspended for two games after being arrested for drunk driving early Sunday.

Ferentz says he "must be a poor communicator" as he says it was disappointing after the things that have gone on to have another player arrested. Ferentz says Tillson is "an outstanding young guy" who made a "very dumb" decision. He says it reflects poorly on the team and is disappointing.

Ferentz is confident the Hawks can bounce back. He says they have to be improvement driven, and says it would be the same if they had won. Ferentz says everybody plays a part in a victory and the same thing applies in defeat. He says they didn’t coach well enough, play well enough, or prepare well enough.

Ferentz is concerned about lack of production from the Iowa offense though he still feels that unit has the potential to put up good numbers. He says they haven’t scored many points and that’s the ultimate objective. Ferentz says they are capable and will get there. Iowa’s defense has still not yielded a touchdown, and he says they’re playing well defensively, but haven’t arrived yet.
