The storm system which blew through Iowa last night blew down some power lines. Wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour were recorded in northeast Iowa. In Edgewood, a machine shed on Doug Wegmann’s farm was destroyed. Three adults and a child were inside the building when the storm hit shortly before eight o’clock, but all escaped uninjured.

Tree damage and some minor property damage were reported in Edgewood as well as Manchester and Dundee in Delaware County. National Weather Service reported some areas of brief but heavy rainfall. The storm system was caused when a cold front from the west collided with the warm, humid air hanging over the state.
