Two highly ranked teams in class A meet in an early district four showdown as second rated West Hancock visits number three Algona Garrigan. Both teams are 3-0 overall and opened district play a week ago with wins. West Hancock coach Bob Sanger says a big concern is Garrigan’s size.

Sanger says Garrigan has two big physical backs that run hard and another small scatback, so they have a lot of tools. Sanger says the Bears also have a big target to throw to in a six foot five end who will make the catch if you focus too much on the fullback and backs.

Garrigan coach Marty Wadle says these teams know each other well from playing each other in other sports. He says it’s fun to play them because of the familiarity. West Hancock is averaging 275 yards on the ground but Wadle says the Eagles can still hurt you with the pass. He says they throw the ball well, and complete a lot of passes.
