Ragtime music is being featured this weekend in the Hamilton County town of Randall, which is marking its 20th annual "Ragtime in Randall" to be held in the Community Gymnasium. Organizer Ellis Anderson, of Randall, says today’s events will include seminars on ragtime music in Iowa, women ragtime composers and several performers.

Anderson says musicians tonight include a two-piano concert of ragtime and jazz is scheduled for 6 P.M., followed by an 8 P.M. show featuring the Ballyhoo Foxtrot Orchestra from Des Moines. Anderson says Sunday will bring a ragtime gospel service at 11 AM followed by a special program dedicated to a late, local musical legend, Bob McNutt.

McNutt founded Ragtime in Randall in 1987 and died in 1993. His son, Bobby, will do a "Remembering Dad" seminar at 2 P.M. A dedication of a new rose garden in Randall will be held at 4 P.M., followed by the grand finale concert at 5 P.M. For more information, visit www.ragtimeinrandall.org .
