Four Iowans on duty in Iraq were injured this past Saturday.  The four soldiers were members of the 833rd Engineers Company based in Ottumwa.

They were injured by an improvised explosive device, an IED, while they were conducting conbats operations at 9 a.m. Iraq time on Saturday.

Two of the soldiers were treated in Iraq and have returned to duty. The other two were flown to a U.S. base in Germany for treatment. Condition reports are not being released, but military officials say their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
