The trial date has been set for a former western Iowa Catholic school principal accused of trying to soliciting sex from a minor. Thirty-one-year-old Louis Stroschein Junior, of Harlan, is now scheduled to stand trial December 4th in Black Hawk County District Court.

Authorities say the former Shelby County Catholic School principal used an internet chatroom to communicate with someone he thought was a teenage girl, and then drove to Waterloo to meet her for sex. Stroschein has been in jail since his September 15th arrest in a motel parking lot. Yesterday, a judge agreed to reduce Stroschein’s $100,000 bond to $15,000.

If he gets out of jail, Stroschein is ordered not to have any contact with minors or the internet. He pleaded "not guilty" last week.
