Iowa is on the road to take on Purdue in the Big Ten. The Hawks are coming off a victory over Illinois and coach Kirk Ferentz says it will take another great effort. Ferentz says nothing will come easy for this team, and says Purdue is a tough team with a ton of veterans back.

Purdue has lost two in a row but Ferentz says the Hawks know how good the Boilermakers are. He says they’ve played two high caliber teams in Michigan and Ohio State. Iowa’s offense controlled the ball in the win over Illinois and Ferentz says that’s a big help for the defense. Ferentz says if they can keep Purdue to a reasonable amount of plays, they will have a better chance.

Iowa State hosts number four Oklahoma. The Sooners have an outstanding run defense but Cyclone coach Gene Chizik says his team must find a way to get some yards on the ground. Chizek says it will be a tall order, and so will be throwing the ball, as he says your line will have to hold up if you throw a lot.

Chizik says it has been tough to find a place to attack the Sooners. He says there’s no weakness he can find where his team is much better than Oklahoma.

Oklahoma freshman quarterback Sam Bradford has put up impressive numbers. Chizik says Bradford has managed the games well and has gotten good protection.
