For much of Saturday it looked like the Iowa State Cyclones were going to shock Oklahoma. But the Cyclones could not finish drives in the red zone and the Sooners dominated the line of scrimmage in the second half in 17-7 victory over the Cyclones who played much better than they did in a blowout loss to Texas a week ago.

Iowa State coach Gene Chizik says he was proud of the way the team prepared coming off the loss and he says they challenged them and gave them a lot of expectations to play better. He says they played better, but the loss is very disappointing.

Chizik says he is not into moral victories. He says it’s hard to get anything out of a loss, as they had an opportunity to beat a good football team and didn’t. Chizik says they have to go back to work and try to find a way to beat their next opponent. That next opponent is a Missouri team that is coming off a blowout victory over Texas Tech.
