Just days after completing his sixth season at the helm Paul Hefty has resigned as the head football coach at Luther College. Hefty says he made the decision after a self-evaluation he makes at the end of every season. hefty says they’er at a point where he thinks it’s a time for a change in leadership to take the program to the next step, which is the championship level.

Hefty was 29-31 at Luther, the program’s best stretch since the early 1980’s. He says the foundation has been laid for more success. He says he’s excited about the future of the program and confident that good things will happen. The Norse finished this past season 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the Iowa Conference.
