Separate traffic accidents in Iowa Monday killed three people. In northeast Iowa, Clayton County sheriff’s officials say a 15 year old boy was killed and four other teens were injured in a single vehicle crash Monday morning. Steven Shillito, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teens were on their way to Edgewood-Colesburg High School when the driver, 15 year old Derek Pritchard, apparently lost control and the vehicle ended up in a pasture. In the Des Moines suburb of Pleasant Hill, a dump truck driver was killed Monday afternoon – when the vehicle struck a bridge support.

The victim is identified as 40 year old William Reynolds of Des Moines. An autopsy is planned to help determine the cause of the accident. And an eastern Iowa man was killed last night when the car he was driving crossed the center line & hit another car head-on near Martelle in Linn County. 38-year-old Jason Pillard of Anamosa was killed. There’s no word on the other driver.
