A Northwood man is dead after suffering head injuries in a farm accident Thursday morning. Worth County Sheriff David Gentz says 62-year-old Allen Opkis was working on a field disc on his property in rural Worth County when the accident happened.
Gentz says Opkis apparently wasn’t found until later in the day yesterday as his office was called to the scene at around 5 o’clock afternoon. Gentz says an autopsy was performed this morning, a standard procedure following a farm-related fatality, and that results were pending as part of the accident investigation.
