Caucus campaigning in Iowa will cease over the Christmas holiday, but this weekend is still packed with presidential politicking.

Former President Bill Clinton’s in Iowa, campaigning on his wife’s behalf. This has been a week in which the campaign has sought to show the softer side of Hillary Clinton, bringing long-time friends into Iowa to tell anecdotes about her.  "This has been a great week for us in Iowa. The Des Moines Register endorsed her. Leonard Boswell endorsed her, a great congressman I admire very much. Our long-time friend Senator Bob Kerrey, former Nebraska senator (endorsed her)," Clinton said earlier this week in Fort Dodge. "And we’ve been flooded in Iowa this week with people who have known Hillary all her life…people whose lives that she changed."

Barack Obama is in Iowa today, tomorrow and Saturday. He’ll return on Wednesday to campaign here straight through to Caucus Night on January 3rd. There were nine candidates on Iowa soil Thursday, including Democrat Bill Richardson who stressed his promises to veterans during an appearance last night in Cedar Rapids. Richardson has promised to create a "hero health card" for veterans.

"You know where that veteran can get their health care — anywhere they want," Richardson said. "Any facility, local facility, local hospital, local doctor — besides the VA — so they don’t have to go hundreds of miles to the nearest VA office." Richardson has also called for a five percent reduction in federal income taxes for all veterans.

Republicans Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson are campaigning in Iowa today.  Democrat John Edwards will be tonight’s guest on "Iowa Press" — an Iowa Public Television program
