Riding snowmobiles or all-terrain vehicles in cemeteries, city parks and golf courses could soon be a thing of the past in Cedar Falls. The Cedar Falls city council is considering two ordinances. One would ban snowmobiles and A-T-V’s from each of the three city-owned cemeteries.

A second ordinance would make it illegal for anyone to operate snowmobiles and all-terain vehicles in all city parks and golf courses — except those designated for their use. The city council is expected to pass both ordinances. The issue surfaced last month after some residents complained that snowmobilers had been riding around in a local cemetery.
