The outright lead in the Missouri Valley Conference will be on the line, tomorrow night, when Drake hosts Illinois State in the Knapp Center. Drake’s school record winning streak is now at 14 after Wednesday night’s last second win at Bradley and while a victory would likely put the Bulldogs into the top-25 coach

Keno Davis says there are bigger things for his team to accomplish. he says it would be nice for the program, but he says finishing strong in the conference race after being picked for ninth would be more meaningful than where they are in the polls.

Davis says the players are enjoying the attention that has come with their 15-1 start but says there is a long ways to go. He says what it does will be seen in future years with recruiting and name recognition. Davis says it also will help spur support, but says the overall impact will come three or four more years. Davis says they’ve been fighting for media coverage in Des Moines and now are getting it.

Illinois State has won nine straight games and both teams are 6-0 in the Valley.
