A lot of Iowans are fed up with the cold and snowy weather. Travel agents in the state say business is booming with people looking to get some place warm. Susan Stepanek of Ultimate Escapes Travel in North Liberty says they’re trying to keep up with all the phone calls.

"A lot of people are thinking of February and spring break," Stepanek says, "and right now, we’re running about 20 to 25 call backs behind." Roger Anderson of Iowa City was recently spotted at the airport in Cedar Rapids wearing a Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts. Anderson has traveled to the Aloha State a dozen times and says he always feels a bit crazy when he leaves Hawaii to return to Iowa in the dead of winter.

"At the airport in Kona, I said to them, ‘do you give a psychological test to people who go back to colder climates as to why they’re leaving?’" Light snow and freezing drizzle is expected across much of Iowa today ahead of warmer temperatures expected this weekend.
