A northeast Iowa city has landed a new food plant that will bring in several new jobs. Hormel Foods of Austin, Minnesota has announced plans to build an 89-million dollar plant in Dubuque that will produce microwave meals.

Construction on the plant is set to begin this summer, with operations to begin in November of 2009. Hormel says the plant will created 180 new jobs. Hormel says Dubuque was chosen in part because of its location near the main grocery products distribution center.
