The UNI Panthers have won four of their last five games as they get set for Tuesday night’s game at Creighton. The Panthers attempted only ten shots in the second half and only 27 for the game in a 68-63 win over Southern Illinois on Saturday night.

The Panthers made up for their lack of shots by hitting 29 of 41 free throw attempts in a physical game. UNI coach Ben Jacobsen says he had no idea that they took ten shots until he saw the final numbers. He says the Panthers did what they needed two down the stretch to preserve the win.

Jacobsen says taking care of the basketball was a big concern, as it is hard to run the clock down against Southern Illinois. Jacobsen says he was glad to force fouls and go to the free throw line, because his team can make them.
