When is an accident on a snowy street not an accident? An accident that wasn’t happened in the wee hours, at about 1:30 a.m. today in Des Moines. Des Moines cops saw a man throw his body into the side of a moving minivan.
The man, who is from Ames, told the cops he was upset about an ex-girlfriend and was trying to kill himself by jumping in front of the on-coming van. It may have been the snowy conditions, or the alcohol the man had consumed, but the man ended up hitting the sliding door on the side of the van.
The man was treated at the scene for a cut to his face, then taken to a Des Moines hospital for observation. No charges have been filed.
