Number eight Wisconsin held the Iowa men to just two field goals in the final 12 and a half minutes as the Badgers downed the Hawkeyes 60-54 in Big Ten play in Iowa City.

It was close the entire game and Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says the Hawks made too many mistakes to post the upset. He says he didn’t have any false idea that his team would blow them out, Lickliter says they had to beat them a possession or two. He says they made some plays that were not winning plays during some possessions.

Lickliter says despite the loss his team played hard. He says one of the things he has grown to like about the team is that noone gave the team much of a chance this year and the team has not stopped competing. Lickliter says the team did not want to go out and play close, they wanted to win. Iowa falls to 4-7 in the Big Ten. It was the Badgers seventh win in Iowa City in their last nine visits.
