The Drake Bulldogs sat on a late lead and got caught flat footed. The Bulldogs were held scoreless for the final five minutes of the game as Bradley rallied for a 72-71 win and handed the Bulldogs their first home loss of the season.

Drake coach Keno Davis on his post game show on KRNT says you have to give Bradley credit, as if they make the last second shot, the game is different. Davis says Bradley made more shots down the stretch. The Bulldogs led 67-57 with just over seven minutes remaining but managed only four points the rest of the way.

Davis says they had a bunch of open looks that didn’t go down and they then didn’t get the rebounds, as Bradley got the rebounds and made shots after misses. Klayton Korver and Josh Young both missed shots in the waning seconds that could have won the game. Davis says they played to a level that gave Bradley a chance to win and they need to come back and work on some things.

Drake is now 14-2 in the Valley and 23-3 overall.
