Sharon Dingman is the latest coach that will try to rebuild the Iowa volleyball program. Dingman had been the head coach at Illinois State since 200 and this past season led the Redbirds to the NCAA Tournament. She takes over a Hawkeye program that has not posted a winning season since 2000.

Dingman says she started her career in gold and black at Purdue and won two Big Ten championships, and now says she hopes to finish her coaching career in gold and black. Dingman says turning the program around begins with hard work.

Dingman says she felt a true commitment and desire to make the program successful, and she is going to work hard to make that happen. She says the players are going to have to out work people, and her staff is going to have to out work people. Dingman replaces Cindy Frederick, who resigned after this past season.
