Authorities investigating a burglary in Waterloo found something unexpected — a body. Police were called to the home of Myrna Lohman earlier this week on a report that two men were breaking into her garage. A neighbor reported seeing the suspects taking something from the garage and driving off in a van.
Police stopped the van and arrested Calvin Young, Junior and Anthony Harris — both of Waterloo — on burglary and other charges. While investigating the break-in, officers learned that Lohman hadn’t been seen for several days. So, they checked on her whereabouts and later found Lohman’s body inside her home.
Police say the robbery is a case of two men not knowing that they were breaking into a dead woman’s garage. Investigators believe Lohman died of natural or medical causes.
