Law officers shot and killed a man in the Des Moines area last night. Several law officers in what’s known as a "warrant team" had staked out the apartment in the Saylor Township where the man lived. Authorities say 50-year-old Bradley Behmer was wanted on several parole violations and if convicted, would’ve faced up to 25 years in prison.

The team confronted Behmer and he allegedly resisted. One witness says he punched one lawman in the face. Then, officers fired. Behmer was declared dead at a Des Moines hospital. The warrant team was made up of probation officers and members of the U.S. Marshall Service. The Des Moines police will lead the investigation.
