A construction worker on a bridge along Interstate 80 in Adair County just west of Adair was killed this morning when the crane he was operating tipped over. Keith Harlan, chairman of A.M. Cohron & Son Construction, Company says they were working on a railroad bridge around 8 a.m.

He says they were removing the existing bridge girders in preparation for a new bridge. Harlan says the crane fell into a hole created by the removal of several of the girders. Harlan says as they lifted a girder out, the crane began to tip and rolled over.

Harlan says the man was in his mid 20’s and had training in operating the crane. The man’s name has not been released.Investigators are trying to determine exactly how the accident happened.
