President Bush and Republican presidential candidate John McCain are touring flood-ravaged cities in Iowa today. The two will not appear together, however.

During a midday visit to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, President Bush will take an aerial tour of the area. Bush is accompanied by a slew of federal and state officials. They’ll all meet in Cedar Rapids with local officials for a briefing on the flood damage and recovery efforts.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain is visiting Columbus Junction, about 60 miles southeast of Cedar Rapids. The town was swamped by the Iowa River.

McCain’s press secretary says it was "practical" for McCain to visit Iowa today as McCain was in the neighborhood, on his way to Minnesota for a town hall meeting this afternoon.
