After being delayed a week by flooding the Primetime basketball league begins tonight at the North Liberty Rec Center. The league is always popular with Iowa Hawkeye fans and all the incoming players will be part of the league.

Iowa City attorney Randy Larson, who is the commissioner of the league, says this league will answer some of the questions about new Iowa coach Todd Lickliter and the players Lickliter has recruited.

He says the styrength of the league is that it offers players quality off-season competition. Larson says they try to talk about that and having fans there makes the players play the right way so they aren’t embarrassed.

The men play on Monday and Wednesday while the Gametime League for women begins on Tuesday night and will also be geld on Thursdays. They will have four teams this year as UNI has decided not to participate.
