Authorities in Colorado say it appears three teenage siblings from central Iowa were hit by a single bolt of lightning, and survived. The teens from Jefferson were hiking with the rest of their family near Aspen, Colorado, on Sunday when they were struck by the bolt.

Fifteen-year-old Elizabeth Jacobson and brothers Nathaniel and Paul, both around 17, were hit. Elizabeth was knocked unconscious and her parents performed C.P.R. on her until she came around and was able to walk. Nathaniel also blacked out and had burns on the bottoms of his feet, while Paul’s injuries were less severe.

The two Jacobson teens who were knocked out were hospitalized — and have since been released. We would’ve had the news sooner but Colorado authorities initially reported the family as being from Idaho, not Iowa.
