A music festival to benefit storm victims in north-central Iowa didn’t attract many listeners. The "Better Than A Dream" music festival had more than 60 bands playing in five locations throughout Mason City and Clear Lake over the weekend, including at the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.

But it turned out that the number of bands played was more than the number of people who showed up for the event. Organizers John and Sarah Whitehead of Marshalltown say they sold only 36 tickets to the fundraiser, which was to raise funds for the victims of the Parkersburg tornado and flooding throughout the area.

The goal was to have 500 fans buy tickets and raise $60,000, but now the Whiteheads are facing a $30,000 loss.
