Iowa’s five congressmen have co-signed a letter to President Bush, asking for “immediate action” on flood relief. The three Democrats and two Republicans signed the letter and issued a joint statement to reporters. The five congressmen say the Bush Administration has taken “limited action” on flood relief.

In the letter, the group of Iowa congressmen said the people of the Midwest “deserve a commitment and promise of action” from the president. One of the congressmen labeled the letter a “call to action,” while another noted it was important that every one — from both political parties — be “on the same page” when it comes to getting disaster relief to Iowans.
