Authorities are releasing more information about the weekend death of a motorist. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department received a call of an accident southeast of Kanawha. Sheriff’s deputies and the Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene.
When they arrived, they discovered an undamaged vehicle in the middle of the road and a body lying in a nearby ditch. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was called to assist in the investigation.
Authorities identified the body as that of 37-year-old Jamie Porter Cook of Kanawha. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Cook’s death was medical in nature. In addition the Kossuth and Wright County Sheriff’s Departments and the Hancock County Medical Examiner assisted in the investigation which is continuing.
